A town was alive with the sound of music as hundreds flocked to a local festival for a dance and a drink.

'Live on the Square' treated Mold audiences for the second year on the run to live solo and band performances, as well as food and drink from local stalls.

The day featured five bands from the town and the surrounding area; 50Hertz, Babylon Leaf, Sidewinder, Universal Exports, Kuider who played alongside a number of acoustic performers.

The Daniel Owen Square was filled with spectators enjoying the music and refreshments as the sun reached highs of 22 degrees celsius in the afternoon.

The event is a collaboration between Mold Town Council and organisers Pete Dando, Tony Williams, an Jim Evans.

Mr Dando said: "This was a really good turn out and it's a wonderful event. The tickets are all sold out, and that's over 800, so it's had a lot of good reception.

"The first year was last year, which was a similarly on bank holiday weekend. We have some great performers, our youngest is 11 years old so it shows the variety we have and its what people want to see. It's great entertainment.

"We work with Mold Council, but basically Jim approached me last year and said, 'how do you feel about doing this with me?

"I'm pleased with how it's gone. The event last year was a success, then we organise it and get the bands, but then its how people come in and enjoying themselves, that's when you remember why we do it.

"Hopefully, we'll run again net year - there's no reason why not."
