The hunt was on for dozens of Flintshire youngsters in the run up to Easter this week.

Children used their holidays to hunt for chocolate eggs at a fun day organised by Caffi’r Hen Llys - the Old Court House Cafe, in Flint.

For two hours yesterday, parents looked on as their children scoured the building, in search of chocolate goods.

Participants came out beaming as they were allowed to keep all the eggs they found, and top-hunters Thomas Manning, five, and Paris Breeze, seven, won a certificate for being the most cracking egg-finders in Flintshire.

Cerys Sullivan, hunt organiser, aims to make it an annual event following its success.

The event was a perfect end to a busy term at the Old Court House, as it will close at 4pm tomorrow, and re-open at 8am on Tuesday.

The Old Court House Café is a community hub and coffee shop which underwent a £490,000 revamp in 2015 funded by Pennaf Housing Group.

The 17th Century court house is a Grade II listed building, which contains community space for hire on the second floor, a café on the ground floor, and is currently home of the community run exhibition ‘Flint Storyshop’ focusing on the town’s past, present and future.
