ASPIRING performers are being invited to show off their skills at an annual talent event.

Entrants can now register for an audition as part of this year's Time2Shine talent competition, which is organised by the Mold Carnival committee.

The competition - which until last year was called Mold's Got Talent - includes two categories; under 15 years and 15 plus.

Finalists in each category will perform on the main stage at Mold Carnival on July 8 for a cash prize of £100.

Jane Evans, a member of the Mold Carnival committee, told the Leader: "It is not just for singers and dancers - we are looking for all kinds of talents.

"And it is not just for people from Mold. It is an event for members of the community and for anyone who visits or has anything to do with Mold.

"It is a great opportunity for anyone who is taking their first steps towards becoming a performer, but it is for amateurs so it is not open to those who perform professionally or semi professionally or receive payment to perform.

"We will have judges from Theatre Clwyd's creative engagement team, Deeside Sixth Form College's head of drama Carolyn Davies-More, businessman Jim Evans and organisers of Live On The Square.

"There is so much talent around and the grand final is always a highlight of the carnival day - many of our finalists are also invited to take part in lots of events.

"We have had people signing up for auditions already - but there is still time for people to register."

Auditions will be held at the Ex Servicemen’s Club on Wrexham Street (the Bottom Club) on June 6 and 11, starting at 6.30pm.

They will be open to members of the public for an entrance fee of £1 (children under 16 free).
