Our latest competition will have you dancing in the aisles! Thanks to our friends at the William Aston Hall, in Wrexham, the Leader has three pairs of tickets up for grabs to see Roy G Hemmings - Hits of Motown in a glittering live performance on Saturday March 10, at 7pm.

Both critics and fans agree that Roy G Hemmings is a great showman and dynamic singer. Understood as the longest serving former member of legendary group, The Drifters, Roy had worked alongside founder Johnny Moore for more than 10 years.

He has entertained audiences around the world with his easy, relaxed style and fabulous voice in a career that spans four decades and includes appearances in several Royal Variety shows and twice at The White House for the then president Bill Clinton.

As a highly respected artiste and singer he has a distinguished track record of fine stagecraft. Roy enjoyed major success when he signed a recording deal with Magnet Records in the mid- seventies with the J.A.L.N. Band, one of the first bands to storm the British charts with the dance record, ‘Disco Music, I Like It’ produced by Pete Waterman.
His second solo album, ‘All Talked Out’, includes a fine version of 'The Drifters' classic, ‘Like Sister and Brother’.

Roy is currently touring with his “Hits Of Motown Show” and 'The Dictionary Of Soul' show’. Both shows feature “The Love Supremes” with they smooth harmonies and slick dance routines, add a stunning dimension to the shows.

So get ready to disco with hits by The Supremes, the Drifters, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Ritchie to name but a few. This electrifying show also features such classic hits as ‘Stop In The Name Of Love’, 'Dancing In The Street', 'I Can't Help Myself', 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine','My Girl', 'Reach Out I'll Be There' and more.

Roy G Hemmings - Hits of Motown, performs live on Saturday March 10, at the William Aston Hall, Glyndwr University Campus, Mold Road, Wrexham. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 7.30pm. (Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult)
