Singer, songwriter and 80s pop idol, Paul Young, along with special guests China Crisis, stop off, as part of their 2018 UK tour, at the William Aston Hall, on Thursday March 15, at 7pm.

Interested in music from an early age, Paul Young began his career in the late 70s by playing in various bands at night, including Kat  Kool & The  Kool  Kats before going on to form the Q-Tips. During the first two years the band played over 700 shows across the UK, giving Paul the chance to develop his unique voice and style. The Q-Tips parted ways at the end of 1982, and Paul went onto release his solo debut album "No Parlez", which was released in 1983 and included his number one single, "Wherever I Lay My Hat". His second hit "Come Back And Stay" followed in quick succession, maintaining Paul's presence at the top of the charts.
With the release of his second album “The  Secret  Of  Association” and the success of “Every Time You Go Away” his status as a world  star was confirmed.

At the 1985 Brit Awards Paul won the award for Best British Male, and in July of the same year performed the Band Aid hit, "Do They Know It's Christmas", during the Live Aid concert at Wembley.

One of the  highlights of the 1989  “Nelson Mandela Tribute Concert” was Paul’s performance of the  Crowded  House song  “Don’t Dream It’s Over”  which he later recorded for his best of album.

He went on to release the self-titled album "Paul Young" 1996 followed in 2006 by a Swing album for the German, Austrian and Swiss markets.

Paul continues  to  write, record  and play, and in 2016 released his first soul album in 20 years, "Good Thing".

Special guests China Crisis, Eddie Lundon and Gary Daly are the founder members of the band which started in Kirby, Merseyside back in 1979. China Crisis found major success in the UK with five Top 40 singles, ten Top 50 singles and three Top 40 albums and hits across Australia, Europe and the Americas. The band, known for their string of hit singles, including African & White, Christian, Working with Fire and Steel, Black Man Ray and Wishful Thinking, will be performing these classics and more, alongside tracks from the new album 'Autumn in the Neighbourhood'.
