OLD Monty Cider has established itself as one of the best cider and perry producers in the country after claiming a slew of awards at The Welsh Cider and Perry Championships.
Old Monty, based near Garthmyl, took home two Golds and two Bronzes from the championships held at Caldicot Castle, Chepstow.
In both the Medium Cider and Medium Perry competition Old Monty took Gold Medals for Old Monty's High and Dry, and Perygl.
They also won Bronze medals in the Dry Cider and Oak Matured Cider categories, for High and Dry, and Oaky Cokey.
The prestigious competition was open to all cider makers throughout Wales, and these excellent results place Old Monty Cider among the very top producers in the country.
Proprietor John Jenkins said: “The Gold Medal for Perry was particularly pleasing as we have only been producing perry for three years.”
