A LEADING concrete and aggregates company has bought four readymix concrete plants in North and Mid Wales.

Tudor Griffiths Limited, of Ellesmere in Shropshire, has acquired the four established plants from CEMEX UK.

The plants are located at Wrexham, Aberystwyth, Bangor and Newtown.

All existing operations, assets and staff at each of the four CEMEX plants have been transferred to the new owner, Tudor Griffiths Limited.

Tudor Griffiths, managing director of the Tudor Griffiths Group, expressed his delight about the acquisition.

“We are very enthusiastic about the prospects for these four plants and the benefits they will bring to our Group’s portfolio.

“The purchase greatly enhances our existing readymix operations within the area,” he explained.

The addition of the four batching plants to the existing Tudor Griffiths Group’s network of eight readymix outlets means that virtually any location within the whole of North and Mid Wales, Cheshire and North Shropshire will be within 20 miles of a TG concrete plant.

Tudor said he is sure that the new focus that has been created by the addition of the four plants and the operational support from the expanded network will bring significant benefits to the Group’s existing and potential customers.

“The newly expanded network will greatly enhance our customer service,” he said.
