Shrewsbury man punched by lager thief

A MAN was punched in the face by a burglar he disturbed trying to steal alcohol from his property.

The incident happened around 6pm on June 28 in White Hart, Shrewsbury, when the victim spotted the offender leaving his outhouse carrying boxes of lager and challenged him.

The offender dropped the lager and punched the victim in the face before making off over the garden fence.

The householder was not seriously injured and the offender is described as white, in his 20s, 5’ 11” tall and of slim to medium build wearing shorts, a t-shirt and a Burberry-style baseball cap.
