Williams produces a triple whammy for Wrexham

MATTHEW WILLIAMS has secured a memorable hat-trick of victories for Wrexham.

He powered his way to a new personal best of 28.86m in the under 15 boys javelin competition at the final round of the National Young Athletes Track and Field League Midlands Division, at Solihull.

Williams then added valuable points from the shot (11.32m) and discus (27.05m) to earn his club second place overall in the match.

William Poole was another member who tasted a trio of successes.

He posted a winning time of 63.1 seconds in the under 17 men’s 400m hurdles, before adding victories in the javelin with a new personal best of 33.66m, and a win from the shot with a put of 9.32m.

Adam Williams grabbed a double success story from the under 17 men’s high jump with a new personal best clearance of 1-70m, and in the long jump with a new best of 6.21m.

Ryan Foulkes secured two victories in the under 15 boys 100m with a new best of 13.2 seconds, and from the 1500m with 4:31.5.

Manon Edwards produced a new best under 15 girls shot performance of 10.53m and launched the javelin to a winning mark of 20.30m.

Hannah Browning cleared a winning height of 1-35m in the under 15 girls high jump and celebrated success in the 75m hurdles with a time of 13.1 seconds.

Tom Walley posted a new under 13 boys long jump best of 4.44m for victory, and cleared 1-37m to win the high jump.

Siôn Roberts completed an under 13 boys 100m (12.9) and 200m (25.9) sprint double, and Chloe Davies nailed successes from the under 13 girls 70m hurdles with a new best time of 13.4 seconds, and in the high jump (1-17m).
