Families enjoyed a day full of fun in the sun at a summer barbecue as they raised funds for St David’s RC Primary School in Mold.

The parents, teachers and friends association of St David’s organised the fundraiser to support the school in buying new useful resources for the pupils to better their academic experience.

The summer barbecue included a raffle which saw parents and pupils win a variety of prizes. Pupils had an afternoon full of fun as they had their faces painted or spent the afternoon having fun on the bouncy castle.

The event on Saturday was a success and raised more than £600 to support the school.

Simon Hughes, headteacher, said: “The weather was superb with wonderful food, it was a great afternoon had by all.

“It was great to see pupils, parents and staff enjoying some sunshine for a good cause.

“Thank you to the local business in the area for kindly donating the raffle prizes and supporting this cause and thank you to Bistre Farm Shop for kindly donating the food for the barbecue.

“We all had a great time, it was lots of fun, giggles and happy smiling faces.”
