WATCH out next season!

That’s the call from Lili Jones as Wrexham prepare to end a promising campaign on a real high.

The Reds, who finished third in their first season back in the Adran Premier League, are preparing for Sunday’s Welsh Cup final showdown with league champions Cardiff City, who are hunting down a domestic treble this season.

Jones, named as the side’s young player of the season in midweek, has enjoyed the step up to the top flight and asked if there was more to come from the team, she told the club’s YouTube channel: “I think that’s the most frustrating thing for us. We know we’ve got the potential in the dressing room.

“Sometimes, it hasn’t just paid off for us.

“So, yeah, we’re hungry and ready to go out fighting next season and we’ll take the title, I’m sure.”

Reflecting on her award win this week, Jones said: “I’m so proud. I’ve had such an amazing time here at Wrexham.

“A lot of winning so, you know, to lose a few games has been odd for us this season, but I’m loving it and I’m learning every minute as well, so I can’t wait to continue with the club.”

While Wrexham comfortably made sure of a third-placed finish in the league, they haven’t been able to get the better of Cardiff in their meetings this season.

The last clash between the sides was the final match of the league campaign at the Cardiff City Stadium, with the league winners coming out on top 5-1.

Sunday’s Welsh Cup final will be played at Newport’s Rodney Parade, kicking off at 5.25pm.
