A FLINTSHIRE pub has been put on the market for £325,000.

The Red Lion, Llansana, near Holywell is up for sale with Sidney Phillips after previously being up for lease with Stars Pubs and Bars.

The pub arms of the Dutch lager giant, Heineken, had planned to refurbish and reopen the pub - which has been closed since 2019.

An investment plan detailed an extensive refurbishment, including a new dining area, bar, toilets and kitchen, but those plans were abandoned earlier this year and the pub has been placed on the market.

The Red Lion was built during the third quarter of the 19th century as a house but was listed as a public house in 1871.

The Grade II listed building is a two-storey public house with white rubble stones under a pitched slate roof, with an adjacent former barn building comprising five en suite letting rooms.

It features a main bar area alongside a a lounger bar, a trade kitchen with a separate storeroom and pantry, as well as a beer cellar.

The pub also comes with it's own accomodation for owners, comprising a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and four double-bedrooms.

A spokesperson for Sidney Phillips said: "The Red Lion has been closed since 2019. Prior to this, it was let on a traditional pub company style lease and therefore no trading accounts are available.

"Prospective purchasers will need to reach their own conclusion as to the potential trade and profitability which can be enjoyed at this outlet.

"The business is located in an affluent village close to many points of interest and coastal towns.

"It offers scope to create a high-quality dining inn offering fine ales and good food, as well as providing income from the five en suite letting rooms."
