A WEEK of heavy and scattered rainfall has been forecast by the Met Office across Wales this week.

Today (April 29) will see cloudy, with the occasional bright or sunny intervals in the east during the morning.

Scattered showers will follow with more general rain developing through the day, heavy at times in the south and west.

Western coasts will experience gusts of wind with a maximum temperature of  15 °C.

Later this evening there will be further rain, some heavier bursts are likely over higher ground. Drier spells will develop in the northeast. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Tomorrow (April 30) will see cloud with showery rain once again, persistent and heavy at times. It will be windy in the morning which will east towards the afternoon. Minimum temperature 15°C.

A spokesperson for the Met Office confirmed the outlook for Wednesday to Friday and said: "Turning drier as we move into May but some rain remains possible.

"Feeling warmer than recently with spells of sunshine. Temperatures often somewhat above average but also breezy at times."
